WHAT IS AN ANTIGEN TEST?

The Rapid COVID Antigen Rapid Test Device by Artron is an in vitro immunochromatographic assay for the direct and qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral nucleoprotein antigens from nasal and nasopharyngeal secretions from individuals suspected of COVID-19 within 6 days of symptom onset and from individuals without symptoms or other epidemiological reasons to suspect COVID-19 infection, when tested twice over two (or three) days with at least 24 hours (and no more than 36 hours) between tests. Their potential benefits include a fast turnaround time of 15 minutes, lower cost and the ability for non-professionals to facilitate the test. The test used must be included on the list of devices authorized by Health Canada.

The Lucira CHECK-IT COVID-19 Test Kit is designed for easy detection of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, responsible for COVID-19. This authorized test is suitable for nonprescription over-the-counter (OTC) use, allowing individuals 14 years and older (self-collected) or individuals ≥2 years (collected by an adult) to conveniently test themselves for COVID-19, regardless of symptoms or suspected exposure.

The Lucira COVID-19 & Flu Home Test is a convenient, single-use test kit designed for rapid and simultaneous detection of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, and influenza B viral nucleic acid. This authorized test is suitable for non-prescription home use, allowing individuals 14 years or older (self-collected) or individuals 2 years or older (collected by an adult) experiencing signs and symptoms consistent with a respiratory tract infection, including COVID-19, to easily and accurately test themselves using anterior nasal swab samples.
